Welcome to Bit-O-Sexy, a column designed to turn you on to horror by featuring images, trailers, products, and whatever else I deem worthy of being called sexy. Now, in the case of this column, anything deemed sexy is not always going to be sexy in the traditional sense, but will always focus on cool horror related people, pictures, trailers, and things.
Anyone who is a horror fan knows what a scream queen is. The very mention of the term will likely make you think of a certain someone, that one person who you most identify with the phrase. The one that most often comes to my mind is Danielle Harris (subject of an early Bit-O-Sexy entry). She is far from the first, but she is most certainly a popular one and I am glad to have met her.
Well, this is not about a current scream queen, but a look to the past. Let’s go all the way back to the 1930’s to visit one of the original scream queens, who likely had no idea that is what she was at the time. Fay Wray.
Let’s take a look at her in action:
Besides being a great screamer, she was quite lovely and deserving of a spot on the Bit-O-Sexy. Just take a look at some pictures:
And think about this, she was not the original choice to be the beauty to King Kong’s beast. The role was originally meant for Jean Harlow. We almost did not get this classic scream and we would have never have known what we were missing! Anyway, raise a glass for one of the very first scream queens!
