Hack Issues – Week Of 1/7 – Wolf Moon #2

Time to shake off that New Year’s hangover, and get back to reading some comics. There isn’t a ton of new stuff out this week, but rest assured things will get back into full swing soon. Same as last Hack Issues when a new issue of Outcast shipped, it didn’t take me long to decide which book to highlight this week, as Wolf Moon #2 will be on the shelves.

You can read all about the first issue in my write-up of it here. The short version for you lazy asses is, the main character Dillon has been hunting a werewolf for years after it slaughtered his family. The creature in question isn’t as easily trackable as a traditional lycanthrope though, as the curse passes to a new person with each cycle of the moon. I really liked the artwork by Jeremy Haun, and praised Cullen Bunn for doing something original with his take on a classic monster genre.

Here’s the synopsis for issue #2 from DC’s Vertigo website:

How do you hunt a werewolf if a different person becomes the monster with every cycle of the moon? The Wolf continues to elude Dillon, and now the trail is going cold. Hoping to uncover some clues, Dillon turns to a reclusive expert on werewolf legends, and what he learns crushes any hope of ever destroying the creature.
