Call of duty 4, and Modern Warfare 2 are two of the best multiplayer FPS games I’ve ever played, and I’ve played a lot. My obsession with “online” multiplayer games goes back a long way. I remember in 8th grade, LAN matches of Doom 2 every third period. Despite all of these things, the last several Call of Duty games were kind of duds, in my opinion. They started to focus too much on the gimmick of unlockable perks, weapons, attachments and other pieces of customization, which is cool, but it takes focus away from the most important part of games like Call of Duty, which is weapon balance and map design. The multiplayer maps of Ghosts was the worst I’ve ever seen. I’m also tired of the Sci-Fi trend in modern FPS games. The jetpacks and such make the game a little hard to get into. Black Ops III continues that trend, but I have to admit that I am curious. I have the game pre-ordered, and the multiplayer beta starts on August 19th on Playstation 4, and later on the 26th on Xbox One and PC. It looks much more violent than most of the COD games, I’ll give it that. Watch the Beta teaser below. Make sure to pre-order the game for access to the multiplayer beta. Call of Duty: Black Ops III is in stores on November 6th.
