In the current, and even a little in the previous generation of consoles, HD remakes of classic games have become a popular thing. I find myself pondering all of the possibilities, games I absolutely loved on previous consoles, in glorious HD, and some of them on a brand new online multiplayer platform. I’ve begged and pleaded for a new-gen Call of Duty 4 or Modern Warfare 2 remake myself. Recently, a brand new, reworked, HD remake of Resident Evil was released, and it was awesome. Just enough changes to make it worth play, and just enough tweaking to make it a viable game on the new configuration. It seemed inevitable at the time that Resident Evil 2 would get the same treatment, but no official word had come down the line.
Capcom flat-out asked its fans if they would want an HD remake of the second Resident Evil game, first appearing on the original Playstation, and the response was an overwhelming yes. Well, today we have official word, our HD remake of Resident Evil 2, a sequel some would argue is one of, if not THE best Resident evil game, is finally coming to fruition. Appearing on the official Resident Evil YouTube page, is a short video featuring Hirabayashi, also known as H, a producer from Capcom R&D Division 1, announced that the greenlight had been given to begin development of Resident Evil 2 “Remake.” Check the video out below. As “H” explains, it’s going to take a while, but we also have an HD remaster of Resident Evil 0 on the horizon. Plus, if you haven’t played the HD remake of the first Resident Evil game, you should probably do so immediately.
