In an increasingly digital world where streaming has replaced brick & mortar rental chains, it is important to support companies like Scream Factory, Vinegar Syndrome, Synapse, Olive Films, Kino Lorber, and the Criterion Collection. But keeping up to date on their releases can be problematic and time consuming. That’s where we come in.

See what’s due out on Blu-ray ahead of time so that you can plan accordingly and bulk up your already impressive collection! RELEASE OF THE WEEK: THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION (SPECIAL EDITION)

VCI’s special edition Blu-ray of Bill Rebane’s infamous killer spider flick has substantially better audio & video quality than previous releases, and is shown in its original aspect ratio! Disc one contains an interview with Director Bill Rebane, an HD recreation of the film’s Super 8 home movie digest version, a lengthy photo gallery, and several trailers.

The second disc contains the original Super 8 home movie digest version (quality is rough), and over two hours of interviews and archival footage! Finally there’s a CD containing fourteen tracks from THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION: THE MUSICAL, and a super cool full-color reprint of the film’s original promotional comic book! Never before has a Bill Rebane film been given so much love!

Delayed time and again because Arrow Video wanted to give fans the best quality transfer possible, this highly anticipated Blu-ray disc is finally available! Restored in 2K from an unrated, and nearly pristine print of the film, THE MUTILATOR has never looked better! And the supplemental materials on this release are insane!

Severin Films went all out on this limited (to 3,000) title. This release contains two versions of the film: THE DWARF (the “strong” international cut) and THE ABDUCTED BRIDE (the tamer U.S. cut). It was a tough decision, but in the end, Chuck Norris roundhoused kicked himself into my heart, leaving my helpless to choose anything but Joseph Zito’s INVASION U.S.A. Shout! Factory’s new disc of the film contains a TV spot, theatrical trailer, interviews with writer James Bruner, and special effects makeup artists Tom Savini, Howard Berger, and Greg Nicotero, plus a feature-length audio commentary with Director Joseph Zito (FRIDAY THE 13TH PART IV: THE FINAL CHAPTER, THE PROWLER, RED SCORPION).

RELEASE OF THE WEEK: CHERRY FALLS

A killer purposely targets virgins in this little slasher gem. Scream Factory’s Blu-ray has newly comissioned cover art, and a good number of extras. There’s a new audio commentary with director Geoffrey Wright, a multitude of interviews (new and vintage), behind the scenes footage, the original theatrical trailer, and the original script (which you can view on your BD-ROM drive).
