In April France’s Atlantique Productions and Italy’s Cattleya started the idea of making Argento’s SUSPIRIA into a TV series that may be called SUSPIRIA DE PROFUNDIS. It was also said that Argento himself will be in charge of artistic supervision. Anyways, according to Bloody Disgusting Thomas de Quincey was going to be the main character of the story but set in London and Rome in 20th century. Do not forget that the Italian movie was inspired by one of the stories by this actual English author styled as a new Sherlock Holmes, the story will explore psychological fantasies of evil and attempt to solve fearful mysteries.
This week we read that 2013 remake-to-come of SUSPIRIA, totally forgotten, may be resurrected. David Gordon Green said on Crave B-Movies Podcast that he is looking for and he may have found a director for the project, maybe an Italian one. Shock till you drop suggests names such as Matteo Garrone or Saverio Costanzo. About the project, Mr. Green described it like and Opera but I don’t mean musical opera, but it would be incredibly heightened music, and heightened and very operatic and elegant sets. Isabelle Huppert was going to be in it, Janet McTeer. We had an amazing cast of elegance and prestige that we were engineering for it.
Who knows what will happen to this… my two cents….. This is totally nonsense madness! But….
